Eternal Heart is a 2D rogue-like game development platform for Windows 10. Over the last few years, I've been thinking about where I want to go next with the Venatio Creo platform. Historically, Venatio Creo has been a very open-ended toolkit that did not enforce game genres. Eternal Heart is an attempt to provide a more focused environment where the game logic handled internally, and the user is responsible for positioning and building their world.
Eternal Heart features a fairly difficult campaign that provides an overview of all of the game mechanics. My hope is that players will beat the game and then build their own content to share with friends online. Eternal Heart was designed to be available as a Windows Universal application, which means it will function on virtually all Windows 10 hardware platforms. It features controls through keyboard and mouse, touch screen and Xbox controller. The game automatically selects the most likely preferred scheme after polling the system, but the user is free to override it.
